The Subject: Stripped Knit Dress
Most women are deathly afraid of wearing stripes… Stripes are known to make a lot of women look wider then what they actually are… But the key is the right colors, and the correct fit! Stripes and I have a love hate relationship. Some days I think they make me look super wide and in other instances I think stripes make me look more proportioned. It’s all about how wide the stripes actually are, and breaking them up with either another pop of color, or a belt to synch the waist! Never be afraid to try something scary, and we all know stripes can be scary…
The bolder the look the bolder you feel!
I chose this black and white stripped number because nothing is more basic, yet, easier to play around with than black and white…
Also adding an additional neutral color to the situation helps break up what seems to be a never-ending pattern of black and white. Pairing this knit dress with heather gray tights gives the look an edgier feel, and the harness belt didn’t hurt either. I wanted to try something different with my new favorite accessory… So I figured lets wear it a different way! Play around with your accessories! You’ll discover entirely new looks by simply wearing something differently than what you’d normally do!
I love this look because it’s transitional. You can pair this dress with a nice blazer for work, and later that evening remove that blazer to head out to dinner with girlfriends!! Every item you own should be chic enough for the day, and just as fabulous for the evening!
So do not be afraid of stripes!! Just make sure you have some fun accessories to pull your look together!!!
Chunky necklaces, blazers, belts, and more!!!
